John Keck's Songwriter Serenade w/ special guest Leah Watts

  • The Encore @ Uptown Theater 3700 Broadway Kansas City, MO 64111 United States (map)

"Songwriter Serenade with special guest Leah Watts" is a performance of orginal and inspirational songs. Host John Keck will also be performing as they serenade you and share stories of life and song.

Leah Watts has been singing since before she could talk….at least that’s what her parents tell her! Her favorite stage was the comfort of her own bedroom until she spent a summer interning in Nashville where she found the courage to perform three original songs on the famous Music Row on her very last night in town!
Since then Leah has gone full steam ahead pursuing her passion. Since the journey began, she has released multiple cover videos [available on YouTube], two original songs Million Tiny Little Things & Strong [available on iTunes, Spotify, & Google Play] both of which have received radio play, and has had the honor of performing the National Anthem at several Kansas City Royals baseball games, Sporting KC soccer games, and the Kansas State Fair. Leah can also be found performing in local coffee shops, at county fairs, and various other venues across the state.

Leah is inspired by people, their passions, and their dreams, and she hopes to use her music to inspire others! This has led to her involvement with multiple benefit events including Cure SMA Walk-n-Roll, R.Y.A.N. suicide benefit soccer game, and inspired her to start her own non-profit organization, Creating for a Cause.

Stay up to date on Leah’s next adventure by following her on social media, subscribing to her YouTube channel, and joining her mailing list!www.leahwatts.com

John is a Kansas City songwriter who creates lyris with the intent of capturing emotion, depicting a moment in time. Much like a photograph can define the light. With one foot in the south and one in the midwest, John's music is a modern blend of traditional american and a willingness to be undefined.

"Of Course people ask me what kind of music do you play. And I want to answer them, and not be rude, but it's difficult give a 30 second elevator pitch, so I've started saying 'I write songs for people who love Van Gogh's paintings'. I want to have a conversation about the emotions behind the songs with our eyes. I want to provoke thought and connect with people. I would also love to see if I can get you to dance, laugh and cry a little." - John L Keck
